Eden Hazard made 352 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 110 goals during his time at the club before leaving for Real Madrid this summer.
Hazard spent seven years in England, and was rated as the best player in the Premier League in recent years.
Hazard was a terror to opposition defence and he used his skill and pace to make life difficult for defenders. Season after season, he was the most fouled in the league, as he always drew fouls from defenders.
Hazard has now revealed that Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk was the toughest defender he faced as a Chelsea player.
Hazard was asked if he feared anyone, to which he pointed only Van Dijk.
“No-one. No-one,” Hazard told Youtuber Jay Shetty.
“But to be fair, in the Premier League we have a lot of good defenders, especially this season Van Dijk was on fire.
“That’s why he got PFA Player of the Year.
“He’s really good. He’s strong. I remember we played Liverpool away and I was striker, and I tried to jump against him but fell. No chance.”
Hazard left Chelsea for Real Madrid this summer after seven years at Stamford Bridge for a fee that could rise to £150m, and Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has taken a dig at Chelsea hinting that the Los Blancos is a much better club.
Zidane said, according to AS: “What Eden needed was a club like Madrid to improve. This club has something special and we all know it.”
