Chelsea centre-back Kurt Zouma spent last season on loan at Everton and the Toffees are now reportedly determined to sign him on a permanent basis.
Everton boss Marco Silva is willing to offer Chelsea up to £32m for the Frenchman after his exploits at Goodison Park last season.
Silva has revealed that a deal could be done for Everton, with Chelsea yet to confirm whether new Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will need Zouma’s services for next season.
“I am hopeful,” Silva told the ECHO.
“I think I am hopeful like all of our fans are but I have to tell you that we have different solutions because we cannot just have one solution. I have different solutions in my mind but I am hopeful and if we can give our fans this fantastic feeling it will be key.”
Zouma is currently with the Chelsea squad on pre-season and is part of the training camp in Dublin as Lampard gets his charges set for the new season.
It isn’t only Silva who wants Zouma at the Goodison Park, as their latest signing Andre Gomes has also revealed he would like to be reunited with the 24-year-old centre-half whose loan deal with Everton has run out, but admits that decision lies outside of his control.
The Portuguese midfielder told reporters: “I can’t decide that. I will leave that for Marcel [Brands, director of football].
“Kurt played really well last season. He’s a fantastic guy and a fantastic player.
“Obviously if Everton wants him I will say to buy him because he’s really good.
“I would like to have him here.”
