Chelsea picked up our first win of the summer in Ireland as goals from Mason Mount, Emerson and Olivier Giroud (brace) helped us to a 4-0 victory over St Patrick’s Athletic.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard selected different XIs for each half and different formations too.
In the first half, the Blues started with a 4-4-2 diamond and switched to a 4-2-3-1 in the second half with Tiemoue Bakayoko and Billy Gilmour playing as the two central midfielders.
Gilmour continued from where he left off against Bohemians with another impressive midfield performance against St Patrick’s. It was such a composed performance from the 18-year-old.
His performance for the Blues against St Patrick’s caught the eye of Chelsea fans with a fan urging Chelsea boss Frank Lampard to sell Bakayoko and keep Gilmour in the first team.
“Hope Lampard sells Bakayoko and keeps Gilmour. The kid is an immense talent,” tweeted @Hazard_Esque.
What do you think of Gilmour’s performance against St Patrick’s? Do you agree with the fan who suggested Lampard sell Bakayoko and keep the 18-year-old?
