Five Chelsea youngsters have been nominated for the 2019 Golden Boy awards.

The prize, which is distributed by Italian newspaper, Tuttosport, rewards the most impressive player aged under the age of 21 to be playing in a European top tier in each calendar year.

The list of 80 nominees has been revealed and five Chelsea youngsters made the list.

The five Chelsea players nominated for the award are Ethan Ampadu, Marc Guehi, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Mason Mount and Dujon Sterling.

Hudson-Odoi was given his Chelsea debut by Antonio Conte but it was under Maurizio Sarri that the teenager became a first-team player at the club and earned an England call-up, making two appearances for the Three Lions.

Ethan Ampadu, just like Hudson-Odoi, got his debut under Conte and was part of the first-team last season, though he didn’t make much appearances for the Blues. He is set to leave the club on loan this summer.

19 year old Chelsea centre-back Marc Guehi impressed in Chelsea’s 1-1 friendly draw against Bohemians but he is set to leave the club on loan this summer. He was named in the team sheet for the Premier League season finale against Leicester City by Maurizio Sarri.

Mason Mount, who recently signed a five year contract with the Blues, will be part of the first team this season under Frank Lampard after impressing in his last two loan spells away from the club. He is tipped for big things.

18 year old Dujon Sterling enjoyed a season on loan with Coventry City last term, and will be hoping that another season of regular first team football will see him improve even further.
