Former Liverpool striker Dean Saunders thinks Chelsea are in a bit of mess and won’t make the top four this season.

Despite finishing third in the Premier League last season and winning the Europa League by beating Arsenal 4-1, Saunders believes Arsenal will finish in the top four ahead of Chelsea.

The Welshman said: “If you’re asking me now, and it could change with who they sign and who they let go…

“I would say, Man City, Liverpool and Spurs – there’s my top three.

“And I think Arsenal will get into fourth as we speak.

“I think Chelsea are in a bit of a mess, and Manchester United are in a massive mess.”

Meanwhile, former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino has a different view as he believes Chelsea are good enough to finish in the top four ahead of Arsenal.

“Frank’s got a better squad than Arsenal,” Cascarino said.

“He’s going to have to be expected to finish in front of Arsenal and you could argue get in the top four as well.

“People are looking at it and saying maybe they won’t get that and they should sacrifice this season, but I don’t believe for one second Chelsea Football Club will do that.”
