Chelsea and Callum Hudson-Odoi have reportedly reached an agreement on a new five year deal according to reports with several reports claiming the 18 year old will earn £100,000 a week.
However, according to Goal, Hudson-Odoi will earn much more than £100,000 when he signs his new contract.
The report claims Hudson-Odoi’s new contract is worth £150,000 per week, rising to £180k-a-week with performance-related add-ons.
Hudson-Odoi’s new deal will see the youngster become one of Chelsea’s highest-paid players. Chelsea had to offer Hudson-Odoi this much after being under pressure to match Bayern Munich’s offer for the teenager. Hudson-Odoi having just one year left on his contract also left Chelsea fearing the club could lose the talented winger for a cut-price tribunal fee.
Hudson-Odoi’s representatives are currently going over the paperwork after all parties agreed to the numbers involved and the 18 year old is expected to sign soon.
Bayern Munich have now shifted their attention to Manchester City’s Leroy Sane after missing out on signing Chelsea’s Hudson-Odoi.
Hudson-Odoi has made only 28 senior club appearances in his career to date, while he has two England caps after being brought into the international fold by Gareth Southgate.
Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante remains Chelsea’s top-earning player by some distance on £290,000-a-week but Hudson-Odoi’s new deal puts him among the second tier of player salaries at Stamford Bridge.
