Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is one of the best coaches in our generation.

He has won everything in club football – Champions Leagues, league titles, Europa League and domestic cup competitions.

He is obviously in the best position to explain the three qualities a complete manager should have.

“To be a complete one, I believe you must have three things,” Mourinho told The Coaches’ Voice.

“First, the academic formation. Second, the understanding of the game that comes from your experience in it. And, finally: the talent.

“This last part is the most important. It does not come from your formation: it’s in your blood. It’s genetic. It’s in your DNA. Either you have the talent, or you don’t have the talent.

“Even with all that, you are always questioning: can I win?

“But it is this feeling of the unknown that I like. I always have.”

Meanwhile, some weeks ago, Mourinho refused to answer a question about Frank Lampard’s appointment as Chelsea boss insisting that he didn’t want to speak about football.

Asked by Sky Sports what he thought of Lampard’s appointment at Chelsea, Mourinho said: “I don’t speak about football. My football? I have no football now.”
