Frank Lampard’s uncle Harry Redknapp insists Lampard doesn’t need his help to succeed at Chelsea.
Redknapp, who managed at West Ham, Portsmouth and Tottenham, among other clubs, believes Lampard is smart and knows the game in and out.
“Frank doesn’t need my help. He’s a very smart lad,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“He knows the game in and out, his father played football for 20 years.
“He is so thorough and so professional in everything he does, and he will leave no stone unturned in trying to be successful at Chelsea.
“This could be a new dawn for Chelsea with young kids getting a chance to show what they can do.”
Redknapp also believes Chelsea youngsters will have an opportunity to play in the first team.
He added: “”It will be great for the young players to have that opportunity to play in the first team, but with the embargo Frank will give those kids a chance.”
