Chelsea boss Frank Lampard named a young and largely inexperienced line-up for his first game as a Chelsea manager in the 1- 1 draw with Bohemians.
The game was Chelsea’s first of the pre-season, and the Blues were against Irish side Bohemians at Dalymount Park, Dublin.
Chelsea started the game on a bang with Michy Batshuayi opening the scoring just after 8 minutes of play. Chelsea failed to convert some chances into goals and Bohemians trialist Eric Molloy shared the spoils with a late goal that ensured the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Caballero | Sterling, Guehi, Ampadu, Azpilicueta | Palmer, Drinkwater, Gallagher | Kenedy, Batshuayi, Pedro
Substitutes: Cumming, Zappacosta, Zouma, Bakayoko, Brown, Baker, Chalobah, Piazon, Ugbo, Gilmour, Maatsen
A total of 22 players were used over the 90 minutes by the new Chelsea boss as Lampard shared the minutes equally between those who had arrived in the Irish capital last Friday. The second group, which arrived on Monday, were not involved.
Chelsea’s next pre-season fixture is against St Patrick’s Athletic on Saturday afternoon, and Lampard has revealed that the likes of David Luiz, Olivier Giroud, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic could feature in that game after returning as part of the second group.
“Other than the injured boys and Christian Pulisic, we’ve been pretty much together and integrated for the past couple of days and we’ll integrate more in the coming days,” The Chelsea boss said.
“You’ll see some of them at the weekend and then we’ll start getting there in terms of putting a squad together.”
