The Blues will be unable to sign any player this summer due to a transfer ban imposed on the club by FIFA but despite the ban, the club has been urged to sell four players this summer.
According to 90min, the transfer ban imposed on the club shouldn’t stop Frank Lampard from selling the players below:
1. David Luiz
Despite being an important player for Maurizio Sarri last season, 90min believes the Brazilian defender should be sold this summer because he is past his prime and on a steady defensive decline.
According to 90min, the likes of Kurt Zouma, Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger and even Cesar Azpilicueta are better centre-backs than Luiz at the moment.
2. Tiemoue Bakayoko
Despite impressing during his loan spell at AC Milan, Lampard has been urged to sell Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer.
According to 90min, with N’Golo Kante more than likely to return to his favoured defensive role in midfield under Lampard, there isn’t much room left for Bakayoko to break into the team.
Despite being part of the Brazilian team that won the Copa America this summer, Lampard has been urged to sell Willian.
According to 90min, Willian shouldn’t be an important player for a top club like Chelsea after scoring just 28 goals and providing 32 assists in 198 appearances for the club.
90min believes Chelsea should listen to Barcelona’s offer for Willian with the likes of Christian Pulisic, Pedro and Callum Hudson-Odoi able to play in his position.
4. Davide Zappacosta
90min believes the Italian fullback should be sold this summer.
While admitting on his day, Zappacosta provides an attacking threat from defence, 90min claim his defensive capabilities aren’t up to scratch.
According to 90min, Chelsea should look to sell off Zappacosta and allow James and Tomori to gain some experience behind club captain César Azpilicueta.
