Eden Hazard’s departure from Chelsea this summer left fans wondering who would be Chelsea’s new No.10.
Hazard was the last person to wear the Chelsea No.10, but the jersey number will be vacant after his departure, and Callum Hudson-Odoi and January signing Christian Pulisic have been tipped for the number 10 shirt.
Chelsea’s Brazilian playmaker Willian has confirmed he will wear the No.10 shirt this season following Hazard’s exit to Real Madrid.
According to Willian, Chelsea have offered him the No.10 shirt following Hazard’s exit to Real Madrid and he has accepted to make the switch from No.22 to No.10.
In an interview with Desimpedidos YouTube channel, Willian confirmed it by saying in Portuguese: “Now the no.10 is mine! The club told me it is mine”.
Willian wore the No.10 for Brazil in the Copa America, but Lampard failed to confirm whether he would wear the Chelsea number 10 next season.
“There’s no confirmation on that decision,” he said after Chelea’s 2-1 win over Barcelona in Japan.
“It will be taken in due course. Hopefully his return to training date will be early August.”
