Frank Lampard is set to play his first game as Chelsea manager as the Blues will kick off their pre-season proper with a friendly game against Irish side Bohemians at Dalymount Park Dublin.
Lampard will use this game to boost up the team’s fitness level as he introduces his style of play ahead of the new season.
Although not all the Chelsea players are back for pre-season, Chelsea’s preseason training camp was boosted on Monday by the arrival of 13 players ahead of Chelsea’s first preseason game against Bohemians on Wednesday.
Midfielders Jorginho, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic arrived at our Dublin training base earlier today.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard also welcomed Marcos Alonso, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Ross Barkley, Olivier Giroud, Andreas Christensen, David Luiz and Emerson Palmieri into our pre-season squad.
Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount have both arrived too, with the pair having enjoyed successful loan spells last term at Aston Villa and Derby respectively.
Chelsea winger Izzy Brown also arrived the training camp on Monday.
Christian Pulisic is yet to join up with the squad following his involvement in the Gold Cup for the United States, while Willian is also absent after representing Brazil at the Copa America.
The likes of Antonio Rudiger, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi are out injured and boosting their recovery from injuries with the new campaign kicking off next month.
