There were huge controversies before the Europa League final and Champions League final last season due to ticket arrangements.
Ahead of the Europa League final in Baku between Chelsea and Arsenal, only 6,000 fans from each club were able to attend due to issues travelling to Azerbaijan and ticket allocation.
A similar thing happened in the Champions League final last season as UEFA issued only 16,613 tickets available for both sets of fans in Atletico Madrid’s 68,000-seater stadium.
According to reports, UEFA are trying to avoid another controversy this time and remain confident that they will be able to satisfy the demands from both clubs this time.
This time around, the Champions League and Europa League winners will have to decide how many tickets they want for the Super Cup final.
According to reports, Liverpool have requested for 5,973 tickets for the game in Istanbul, while Chelsea asked for 1,314, which means the Merseyside club will have more than four times as many travelling supporters than Chelsea.
The Super Cup final showpiece between Liverpool and Chelsea will be staged in Besiktas’s 41,000 capacity stadium in Istanbul on August 14, and Chelsea might not have enough support on the day.
