Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists only Manchester City and Liverpool have been better than his Manchester United team since he took charge of the club in December 2018.
Despite finishing sixth in the Premier League last season, six points behind third place Chelsea, Solskjaer believes his Manchester United team rank above Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal.
Solskjaer said: “It did feel like it towards the end of last season, but it didn’t feel like it in the beginning when I came in.
“And in the 21 games we had when I came in, we were still third in that 21-game period.
“And that is including that bad spell at the end. It was only those two that were consistent, so we’re still third in that respect.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard isn’t bothered about Chelsea’s inability to sign players this summer as he is happy about the quality in the squad.
Lampard said: “I think I inherited very good players. We cannot bring in any players we know that… But I’m very happy with the squad.
“My job now is to work hard in pre-season with them. I like my teams to play with a lot of energy and speed, with and without the ball, so I want to win it back as quickly as we can.”
