Chelsea’s Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi is back at the club after spending last season away on loan, first at Valencia and then at Crystal Palace.
Batshuayi is currently with the team in Ireland for a preseason training camp as the Blues prepare for the start of the new season. The Blues flew to Dublin, Ireland on Friday, a day after Lampard was announced as Chelsea boss.
Batshuayi is likely to stay back at Chelsea next season due to Chelsea’s inability to sign a striker this summer.
The Belgian striker sent a message to Chelsea fans after training on Saturday.
In a video posted on Chelsea’s official Instagram account, Batshuayi said: “Hello Chelsea fans, day two preseason. It’s good to be back. Yes.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard insists Michy Batshuayi and other fringe players will get the opportunity to prove their worth.
Lampard said: “Everybody has an opportunity. I have no pre-conceived ideas about anybody, I have got good knowledge of the squad but I need to see them over the next month.”
