Chelsea youngster Mason Mount was used to good effect by Frank Lampard last season. Mount was a key player for Lampard at Derby County last season and the youngster has now signed a new deal to remain at Stamford Bridge for five more years.
Mount is a goalscoring midfielder, and he left from the best goalscoring midfielder in the person of Frank Lampard. The 20-year-old scored 11 goals and assisted six in 44 games across all competitions for Derby County, who were beaten in the play-off finals at Wembley.
The Chelsea academy product is excited at the prospect of playing for the senior team next season and has revealed that his target is to score lots of goals.
“Every time I put on the Chelsea shirt, whether in training or a game, it’s a massive honour for me,” Mount said.
“When you’ve been at a club for such a long time and you get to put that shirt on, there’s no other feeling apart from you want to just go out and give it your all. That’s something I’m really looking forward to.
“The team is unbelievable and there’s some world-class players in the dressing room so the best thing for me at the moment is to learn from them as much as I can.
“I want to play as many games as I can for Chelsea. I want to score as many goals, get as many assists and work as hard as I can to do that.”
