Mason Mount has been very impressive for Chelsea in pre-season, and the 20-year-old is looking like he’ll be an influential player for the Blues next season.
Mount banged in the goals while playing for Derby County last season, and the 20-year-old scored 11 goals and assisted six in 44 games across all competitions for Derby County.
He is also doing well in front of goal for Chelsea and scored a brace against Reading in the pre-season game on Sunday.
Mount has revealed that playing for Chelsea and under new Blues boss Frank Lampard makes him feel at home and he admitted that he’s enjoying his football.
Mount said: “I feel like I’m home after having two seasons away on loan and now coming back.
“It’s very exciting times for the younger players because there’s an opportunity there but it’s not given.
“You have to work hard and show to the manager that you’re ready to step up and get into the team. That’s my goal, I’m loving my football at the moment and playing where I feel most at home.”
Mount had earlier revealed that he is excited at the prospect of playing for the senior team next season and that his target is to score lots of goals.
“Every time I put on the Chelsea shirt, whether in training or a game, it’s a massive honour for me,” Mount said.
“When you’ve been at a club for such a long time and you get to put that shirt on, there’s no other feeling apart from you want to just go out and give it your all. That’s something I’m really looking forward to.
“The team is unbelievable and there’s some world-class players in the dressing room so the best thing for me at the moment is to learn from them as much as I can.
“I want to play as many games as I can for Chelsea. I want to score as many goals, get as many assists and work as hard as I can to do that.”
