Chelsea recorded our second win of the pre-season with a 2-1 win over Barcelona on Tuesday.

For Pedro, who started the game against Barcelona, it was success against the club he called home for so many years, and whose line-up included a number of his former team-mates.

Pedro believes the win over Barcelona on Tuesday will give Chelsea confidence as we prepare for the season opener against Manchester United.

“It’s a good win that gives us confidence,” Pedro said, according to Chelsea’s official website. “The first game is a massive one, a difficult one against United, but now it’s time to prepare with these pre-season games.

“It’s a great opportunity for us to show our potential and keep working with vision and with high intensity.”

David Luiz, who impressed against Barcelona, admitted he was happy with Chelsea’s intensity and possession against Barcelona.

“Both teams played very well,” David Luiz added.

“I was happy with my team because we played with intensity, and with a lot of possession also. Against Barcelona it’s always difficult to keep possession but we did it, and we could have scored more goals.

“It is a great moment of pre-season. We are still improving, we are still going in the right way, and these two games [in Japan] gave us a lot of things that will help us.”
