The Blues are preparing for our first game in the Far East this Friday against Kawasaki Frontale.
Wednesday was the team’s first full training session since arriving at Japan off the back of a tough night’s sleep following the previous day’s 12-hour flight from west to east.
The team held a double training session on Wednesday with the first session very intense. After a period of gym work it was out onto the pitch, with the squad split into different groups, taking directions from coaches Joe Edwards and Chris Jones, who put them through various exercises all focused on intense running but with the added interest of a football to chase.
The players also worked on their finishing with Davide Zappacosta and Olivier Giroud catching the eye with stunning volleys.
The players took a break after the first session and returned in the evening for the second training session which took place in slightly less humid conditions.
