Chelsea’s January signing Christian Pulisic remains one of two Chelsea players that’s yet to be handed a playing number.
Pulisic wore the No.22 shirt for his former side Borussia Dortmund, which is currently Willian’s number.
Although the American wore the No.24 shirt against Kawasaki Frontale, it’s yet to be confirmed as his number and was only a temporary jersey number.
Andreas Christensen will wear the No. 4 next season, Tammy Abraham No. 9, Kurt Zouma No. 15 and Mason Mount No. 19.
Interestingly, the No. 10 shirt was vacated by Eden Hazard following his move to Real Madrid, with many fans hoping that Pulisic will inherit Hazard’s No.10 which is still vacant.
The tussle seems to be between Willian, Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi, but it seems it’s the Brazilian who will wear the No. 10 shirt.
Willian has confirmed he will wear the No.10 shirt this season following Hazard’s exit to Real Madrid.
According to Willian, Chelsea have offered him the No.10 shirt following Hazard’s exit to Real Madrid and he has accepted to make the switch from No.22 to No.10.
In an interview with Desimpedidos YouTube channel, Willian confirmed it by saying in Portuguese: “Now the no.10 is mine! The club told me it is mine”.
