Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has three strikers – Tammy Abraham, Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud- at his disposal ahead of the new season.

All three strikers have been given their chance in preseason but who has impressed the most so far after four preseason games?

According to football.london, Tammy Abraham is ranked third among our strikers. They believe he is good enough to be in the Chelsea team but isn’t ahead of Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi.

“Got his chance in the win over Barcelona with a lovely finish for the opening goal. Still some question marks over whether he should be the number one striker, however,” according to football.london.

“His link up play is still not sharp enough and he missed an absolute sitter in the first half against Barcelona before finally grabbing his goal.”

Olivier Giroud is rated second among our strikers and it is believed the 32 year old is an ideal impact player.

“Yet to make a start for the Blues, but has showed when he has come on just how useful he can be and scored a brace against St Patrick’s Athletic,” according to football.london.

“The only thing holding him back from the starting spot is the lack of pace for the way that Lampard wants to play, with high intensity and working the flanks.

“Still an excellent plan B as he has been throughout his time at Chelsea.”

Michy Batshuayi is rated as Chelsea’s best striker so far.

“The Belgian made a real impression in the chances that he has been given, with good link up play and running the lines well during the summer,” according to football.london.

“His goal in the opening goal of pre-season is something that we are accustomed to seeing him do but it is the rest of his game that appears to have developed too.

“Previously seen as a rather limited if lethal finisher, dependent on others to bring him into play and keep possession high up the pitch, Batshuayi’s hold-up play has been superb while also linking with the midfield and getting behind defences with his pace from the front.”
