Everyone has been wondering who will next wear the Chelsea number 10 jersey after the departure of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid.
Hazard was the last person to wear the Chelsea No.10, but the jersey number will be vacant after his departure, and Callum Hudson-Odoi and January signing Christian Pulisic have been tipped for the number 10 shirt.
Hazard previously wore the No.17 shirt when he joined from Lille in 2012 before switching to the No.10 shirt in 2014 following the exit of Juan Mata to Manchester United.
As it turns out, neither Pulisic nor Hudson-Odoi will wear the No.10 shirt next season.
Chelsea’s Brazilian playmaker Willian has confirmed he will wear the No.10 shirt this season following Hazard’s exit to Real Madrid.
According to Willian, Chelsea have offered him the No.10 shirt following Hazard’s exit to Real Madrid and he has accepted to make the switch from No.22 to No.10.
In an interview with Desimpedidos YouTube channel, Willian confirmed it by saying in Portuguese: “Now the no.10 is mine! The club told me it is mine”.
Willian was Brazil’s No.10 at this summer’s Copa América. He also wore the No.10 at both Shakhtar Donetsk and Anzhi Makhachkala before coming to Chelsea.
Willian will now dump his No. 22 shirt for the No. 10, and majority of Chelsea fans believe he deserves it.
