Chelsea might be done with summer transfer business as the Blues will be unable to sign players for two transfer windows, but some of our finest players are still being linked with exits from the club.
Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri is the latest to be linked with an exit, with reports claiming that Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte is keen to sign Emerson.
Conte was in charge of Chelsea when the Blues signed Emerson from Roma, and he’ll be hoping to reunite with the Brazilian.
According to Calciomercato, via the paper edition of Tuttosport, Inter are looking at Emerson as a possible signing should Ivan Perisic depart this summer.
It’s left to be seen whether Marcos Alonso or Emerson will be first choice for Frank Lampard next season, but Chelsea aren’t willing to sell any of them as the Blues need adequate protection in each department following the transfer ban.
Former boss Maurizio Sarri has also shown interest in Emerson, but was rebuffed by the Blues.
Back in June, Emerson debunked stories of a move to Juve, insisting that he is happy at Chelsea and has made no contact with another club.
When asked about his future, Emerson said: “I’m happy at Chelsea, we won the Europa League and I am calm.
“I didn’t receive any call, I am happy here. There is nothing to say, I am focused on Chelsea.”
