Chelsea stars Christian Pulisic and Willian are yet to join the team for preseason. This is because both players were involved in continental competitions for their respective countries.
The Blues drew 1-1 with Bohemians in our first preseason game of the summer and will face St Patrick’s on Saturday. Willian and Pulisic are expected to be miss the game against St Patrick’s as they are yet to report for preseason.
According to Daily Telegraph, Christian Pulisic and Willian, who have both been away with their national teams, will link up with the squad on the tour of Japan.
The Blues will fly back to London straight after the St Patrick’s clash and the players have Sunday and Monday morning off before travelling to Japan on Monday afternoon.
Willian is currently injured after suffering a hamstring injury in Brazil’s 2-0 semifinal win over Argentina in the Copa America. He was unable to feature for Brazil as they beat Peru 3-1 in the finals.
Willian was expected to be unavailable for the Chelsea’s preseason tour to France but Daily Telegraph has now confirmed the Brazilian will make the trip to Japan.
Pulisic’s USA lost to Mexico in the Gold Cup final but he was named as the tournament’s best player.
