A bizarre scene happened in the Chelsea training ground in Dublin as Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater was spotted leaving the training pitch about ten minutes into the beginning of the session.
According to reports, the midfielder was asked if his leaving the pitch was connected with any kind of injury, and he said ‘No’ and walked away.
The reports claim Drinkwater ‘wasn’t in a great mood’ while he was leaving.
However, Drinkwater returned to the training pitch and resumed the session with the rest of the team, but the reason for his withdrawal is unknown. Some even believe that the 29-year-old was escorted away from the ground.
Drinkwater failed to make a competitive appearance for Chelsea last season under Maurizio Sarri. His only appearance for the Blues last season was in the Community Shield game at the start of last season.
He has now been offered a lifeline by new Chelsea manager Frank Lampard, who claims that every player will be given an opportunity to show what they can do.
