The Blues had an open training session in Yokohama on Thursday ahead of our friendly against Kawasaki Frontale on Friday.
Chelsea legend Ashley Cole, who is in Japan as part of his ambassadorial and commercial duties with the Blues, watched the players train on Thursday.
There was a first glimpse of Christian Pulisic for the Chelsea fans inside the stadium while N’Golo Kante trained with the rest of his teammates on Thursday, having previously been working individually with the fitness and medical team as he recovers from an injury sustained towards the end of last season.
Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham missed Thursday’s open training. The striker was feeling unwell and was the only player absent from Thursday’s training session.
Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has been impressed with the performance of Abraham in preseason so far.
The 21 year old started alongside Michy Batshuayi in Chelsea’s 4-0 win over St Patrick’s.
“These games are important to win for the feeling but important for the lads to get every little bit out of it in terms of physically and how hard they work,” Lampard said after Chelsea’s 4-0 win over St Patrick’s.
“We saw better passages of play and better quality but our fitness is still something we need to strive for.
“I thought Tammy, his energy up front, alongside Michy, was really good between the pair of them.
“They showed exactly the sort of stuff I want, energy off the ball as well as on the ball, and quality.”
