The number 10 jersey is usually priceless one for most teams, and the last occupant of the number 10 shirt at Chelsea is Eden Hazard.
Hazard was the star of the Chelsea team and wore the number 10 shirt before his departure to Real Madrid. The Chelsea star left for the Bernabeu at the end of last season, and the number 10 shirt is currently vacant.
Chelsea can’t make any signing during this transfer window, meaning only a member of the current team can wear the number 10 jersey.
Interestingly, the two players who could try to fight for the number 10 jersey are young players below 21, as Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic remain the biggest candidates to the jersey number left by Hazard.
Hudson-Odoi is one of the biggest candidates for the vacated Hazard job and the Blues are keen to tie him down to a new contract. Bayern Munich are keen on the Chelsea youngster and also promised to hand the teenager the number 10 shirt if he joins their club.
Hudson-Odoi is seen as the future star of this Chelsea team, and from what the youngster showed last season, he has what it takes to be one of the best players in the world.
New Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has spoken highly of Hudson-Odoi, and he just might want the number 10 jersey.
January signing Christian Pulisic is another major contender for the number 10 jersey which was vacated by Eden Hazard.
The youngster wore the No.22 shirt during his time at Borussia Dortmund, and he wears the number 10 jersey for the US national team as he’s the star of the team.
Pulisic has quite a few numbers to choose from at Chelsea and the No.10 will definitely be on his mind.
Who do you think is the best candidate for the vacant number 10 jersey at Chelsea?
