Chelsea youngster Izzy Brown has today joined Luton Town on loan for the rest of the 2019/20 season.

The 22-year-old will play in the Championship this season after spending last season at Leeds United, although his progress at Elland Road was disrupted by injury.

Since joining Chelsea in 2015, Brown has since had loan spells at Rotherham United and Huddersfield Town in the second tier, helping the latter earn promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs in 2017.

Last year, Brown signed a new contract at Stamford Bridge until 2021 before signing for newly-promoted Brighton on loan. He made 13 Premier League appearances for the Seagulls, before a knee injury saw him return to Chelsea in January 2018.

Izzy Brown will be hoping to have an injury free campaign this season so he can fulfill his potential which made Chelsea go over the odds to sign him from West Bromwich Albion.

Brown has been capped at youth level by England, and has twice won the FA Youth Cup with the Blues, as well as lifting the UEFA Youth League with Chelsea in 2015.

Luton gained promotion last season to the Championship and are managed by Graeme Jones. They opened their campaign with a 3-3 draw with Middlesbrough at Kenilworth Road.

Up next for the Hatters is a trip to Cardiff on Saturday and Brown could get a debut against the Bluebirds.
