Chelsea attacking midfielder Kasey Palmer has today joined Bristol City on a permanent transfer.
The 22 year was part of Chelsea’s visit to Ireland and Japan for pre-season before making the decision to leave the club on a permanent deal.
Palmer spent the second half of last season on loan at Bristol City, making 17 appearances for Lee Johnson’s side as they narrowly missed out on a Championship play-off place.
Palmer joined the Chelsea academy from Charlton in 2013 and contributed to silverware success in the FA Youth Cup, UEFA Youth League and Under-21 Premier League.
Palmer will link up once again with former team-mates Jay Dasilva and Tomas Kalas, who have both made permanent transfers to Bristol City this summer after spending 2018/19 on loan at the Championship club.
Speaking of his club’s decision to sign Palmer, Bristol City boss Lee Johnson said: “I’ve been really impressed with his application and focus over the off-season period. Kasey has made big sacrifices to come here and we truly believe Bristol City and Kasey will be a fantastic match moving forward.”
Bristol CEO Mark Ashton added: “We’re delighted to have Kasey here on a permanent contract and we again appreciate the assistance of Chelsea in coming to this agreement.”
