We are set to begin Champions League football next month, and the Blues will be hopeful of getting a good draw in the Champions League group stage.
The Blues missed last season’s Champions League having failed to seal a top four spot, but Maurizio Sarri led Chelsea to a third place finish last season, and thus a Champions League place.
According to reports, Chelsea will have an easy group and will be placed in pot one alongside Liverpool and Manchester City.
City are among the top seeds along with the title winners from Uefa’s top-performing nations; Spain, Germany, Italy, France and Russia. Chelsea are back among the best having won the Europa League.
Chelsea will discover their Champions League group stage opponents this Thursday when the draw takes place in Monaco.
The final qualifying round commenced last week and will be rounded up tonight (Tuesday) and tomorrow, where we will finally know the final 32 teams left standing.
Zenit St Petersburg
Ajax (if they beat APOEL Nicosia in the play-off round). If not Lyon will move up from pot three.
Red Bull Salzburg
Olympiakos or Krasnodar
Club Brugge (if they beat LASK)
Dinamo Zagreb (if they beat Rosenborg)
Young Boys or Red Star Belgrade
Slavia Prague or CFR Cluj
Chelsea will not meet any of the teams placed in pot one.
