Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater is surplus to requirements at the club and the Blues are reportedly listening to offers for the 29 year old midfielder.
Reports claim Chelsea are open to letting him leave on loan if the 29 year old fails to get a permanent transfer.
According to The Telegraph via Daily Express, Chelsea are likely to have to pay a percentage of Drinkwater’s wages if a deal is to be agreed in the coming days.
Drinkwater joined Chelsea from Leicester City for £35million back in 2017 and the midfielder earns £100,000 weekly, an amount clubs interested in signing him aren’t willing to pay.
Drinkwater failed to make a single Premier League appearance for Chelsea last season under Maurizio Sarri and he is unlikely to feature this season under Frank Lampard. Drinkwater wasn’t part of the squad that travelled for the final two games of pre-season, against RB Salzburg and Borussia Monchengladbach.
Premier League sides Norwich and Burnley are reportedly interested in signing Drinkwater on loan for the rest of the season but would face competition from Turkish club Galatasaray, who are also reportedly interested in the 29 year old midfielder.
