Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich made a rare appearance in the stands as Chelsea beat Austrian side RB Salzburg 5-3 in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday night.
Abramovich looked impressed as he watched Christian Pulisic score a double, Pedro score the best goal of preseason, Ross Barkley and Michy Batshuayi give the Blues a comfortable victory over RB Salzburg.
Abramovich has been absent from Chelsea games for much of the past 12 months following problems with his UK visa.
After the win over RB Salzburg, Abramovich waited in the tunnel to congratulate players, in a move which reassured fans who feared he could sell the club.
Abramovich has always wanted Chelsea to play attacking football and he was obviously impressed with the attacking football the team played as he was caught on camera smiling while watching the game.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will be impressed with the team’s attacking play but will be eager to work on a defence that have conceded six goals in our last two preseason games.
