It was an all-round team performance as Frank Lampard’s side gave a good showing against Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup final on Wednesday night.
Everyone was expecting Liverpool to dominate and outclass Chelsea, but it was a different ball game at the Besiktas Park Stadium in Istanbul, as Lampard’s side gave a good account of themselves, with Liverpool winning the cup only on penalties.
N’Golo Kante was the best Chelsea player on the night, and new Besiktas coach Abdullah Avcı hailed the Frenchman for his performance. But he also chose to praise Pedro who was outstanding on the flanks.
“I also liked Pedro,” he told Goal. “He’s the ideal attacking wing player in modern football; he can help his team, protect the ball, he doesn’t lose possession easily and can dribble past his opponent in the blink of an eye.”
After the game, Pedro revealed he was proud of Chelsea after the team’s display against Liverpool on Wednesday.
Pedro, who had good game against Liverpool, insisted the players will keep working together to get results.
“Proud of this team. We fought until the end. We will keep working together to get results. Come on Chelsea,” Pedro wrote on Twitter.
