Manchester United and Chelsea start the new Premier League season with a game against each other at Old Trafford on August 11th. For the two sides, this game marks the start of the top four fight.
United and Chelsea battled hard for a top four place which was full of ups and downs until the last day of the season. At the end, Chelsea finished in third, Tottenham fourth, Arsenal fifth and Manchester United sixth.
It’ll be another difficult battle next season, and Blues legend Frank Lampard will be the one to lead the club next season, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will lead United for the first time from pre-season.
Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov expects Chelsea to finish ahead of Manchester United this season, and Berbatov admits that he has been impressed with Lampard’s style of play.
“Unfortunately I need to say it but I think Manchester City will be champions again, then Liverpool. They are the top two,” he told the Mirror.
“Then I think Spurs and then Chelsea. I say Chelsea because I saw them play under Frank Lampard and I like his philosophy a lot.
“And then of course you have the usual suspects, Arsenal and Man United.
“Hopefully we see someone from the rest of the pack – the other teams who are coming up. For example Wolves, I enjoyed watching them last season.
“Hopefully there is no fatigue as they are playing in Europe.”
