Chelsea will begin the new campaign with an away trip to Old Trafford next weekend and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side has had a good momentum leading to this fixture.
Solskjaer’s side secured another victory on Saturday night albeit via penalties as they defeated AC Milan following a hard fought encounter at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
It has been a flawless pre-season for Manchester United who didn’t lose any game all summer, winning 5 of those fixtures in 90 minutes.
And now, Solskjaer has revealed that he knows his squad that will face Chelsea.
“I more or less know my team. There is still eight days, so you never know. Eight days is a long time in football,” Solskjaer told MUTV.
The Norwegian then added: “I think we have done well, we are working, it is a work in progress. It is not like today gave you a final answer where we are ready.
“We still have to work throughout the season and improve as every game goes on. But we are ready for the next game, we are all fit, raring to go and it will be a fantastic night at Old Trafford.”
Solskjaer also hopes to unleash summer acquisition Harry Maguire for the game against Chelsea, and the United boss is hoping that the deal will be sorted out as soon as possible.
“Hopefully the last little details will be in place and hopefully we can announce something soon,” Solskjaer said of the deal.
“Let’s get the last details over the line but yeah, he’s played a few games over the summer so we’ll have to assess him if and when.”
