Chelsea midfielder Jorginho isn’t happy certain fans think he can’t survive without former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri.
Former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas even called Jorginho, Sarri’s son, after he left Chelsea for Monaco.
According to Jorginho, he wants to be known as Chelsea’s Jorginho and not Sarri’s prove and he hopes to prove himself to fans by having a good season under Frank Lampard.
Jorginho told Esporte Interativo: “I was a little sad seeing people thinking I arrived here only because of [Sarri].
“I arrived here because of my hard work, my day to day work, my sacrifices.
“It’s a challenge for me to show the fans that thanks to my work it’s why I got here.
“I want to take this opportunity to have a good season and also for my name to be recognised by Jorginho who plays for Chelsea, not Jorginho who only works with Sarri.”
Lampard has shown he trusts Jorginho with the Italian international starting both games the Blues have played this season. He also played 120 minutes in the Super Cup loss to Liverpool on Wednesday night, scoring Chelsea’s second goal.
Jorginho has so far proved he can play outside of Sarri’s system and Chelsea fans will be hoping for more good performances this season from the Italian international.
