Italian international Jorginho was heavily criticised by Chelsea fans last season after arriving from Napoli with former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri in the summer of 2018.
Sarri saw Jorginho as the chief-architect of “Sarri-ball” but fans were not impressed with Sarri’s style of play and Jorginho’s endless passing without providing an assist.
Ahead of the start of the new season, Jorginho has told Chelsea fans that he would work hard for the team to ensure Chelsea win trophies in the new season.
Jorginho told Sky Sports: “Of course we believe we can always improve because the moment that you think you cannot improve anymore you go backwards.
“We have to open our minds and believe we can be better and be on the rise.
“Certainly, I will do what I have always done and give my maximum performance. Fans can expect the same from me – hard work and a lot of work on the pitch to try to bring trophies and silverware that this club deserves.”
We have seen a different Jorginho in preseason under Chelsea boss Frank Lampard and we can expect more goals and assists from the midfielder in the new season.
