Chelsea midfielder Jorginho started his professional career at Sambonifacese, but the Italy international has gone all the way to becoming a top player in the game.
After a stellar performance under Maurizio Sarri at Napoli, Jorginho made the switch to Chelsea alonsgisde Sarri, but he’s being backed to achieve more at the club.
The 27-year-old failed to impress in the Premier League last season, but he improved towards the end of that campaign and is looking a different player under new boss Frank Lampard.
Jorginho’s early time coach Claudio Valaigi, his manager at Sambonifacese expects the midfielder to build on his first-year experience in the Premier League and become a better player this season.
“It was a learning curve for him,” the Italian told Sky Sports. “The first year will have been very important and I believe he’ll improve for the experience
“He is a smart guy with personality and technique. He is someone who needs to be at the centre of the game, touching the ball often. He is still the ideal player for a team who wants to control possession.”
Jorginho has started all Chelsea’s game this season and will play a pivotal role under the new boss Frank Lampard.
