Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was unimpressed with the performance of Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma in Chelsea’s 4-0 loss against Manchester United.
Chelsea were the better side before Zouma clumsily brought down Marcus Rashford in the box, with England international picking himself up to smash the penalty home.
Mourinho admitted he would be frustrated with Zouma.
“I would be very frustrated with Zouma,” Mourinho said.
“Because you analyse opponents and that is one basic thing when you play against Marcus Rashford.
“In that position he always goes to the inside.
“He always goes to look for his favoured foot, for his favourite position and his favourite shot.
“He loves the shot, in curve, from that position there.
“So [when] you are in the box, you just have to close the inside and you don’t need to put your leg in.”
Liverpool legend Graeme Souness agreed with Jose Mourinho.
“Zouma, just stay on your feet son,” Souness said.
“You’ve got someone else coming back into the picture, [Cesar] Azpilicueta, so you’ve got bodies around you.
“You don’t need to be clumsy.
“Just stay on your feet, run into an alley with him, don’t do that.
“That’s risking everything.”
