Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham bounced back from the penalty miss against Liverpool to score a brace as Chelsea defeated Norwich 3-2 away at Carrow Road last Saturday.

Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic also had a good game against Norwich, and combined well with the forward players, and the Croat has revealed that Abraham can improve a lot, adding that he has a good connection with the forward and the rest of his teammates.

“It comes naturally. Tammy is a great player with great movements. He is still young and he can improve a lot,” he said.

“I think the whole team is doing quite well in these first games. We have a good connection and I think we can only get better from now on.”

BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks has hailed the performance of Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic in the game against Norwich City, revealing that his performance had the qualities of Lampard, Ballack and Essien.

In the absence of N’Golo Kante, Kovacic stepped in and put in a sterling performance for Chelsea against Norwich at the weekend that has left Crooks in awe of the Croatian.

“Since the departures of Didier Drogba, Michael Ballack, John Terry and Frank Lampard, Chelsea have lacked leadership on the pitch,” he told the BBC.

“The arrival of Mateo Kovacic at Stamford Bridge didn’t convince me that anything had changed until his performance against Norwich.

“In the absence of N’Golo Kante, the Croatia international looked immense.

“I knew he could tackle, compete and was full of enthusiasm but I didn’t think he could play.

“Every time I watch him at Stamford Bridge, he plays the ball everywhere apart from where it should have gone.

“His performance against Norwich proved he is much better than that.

“His manager Lampard may have discovered a player here.”
