Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was in the stands as the Blues beat RB Salzburg 5-3 on Wednesday night in Austria.
New Chelsea signing Christian Pulisic scored a brace, his first goals for Chelsea. He also earned the penalty which Ross Barkley converted.
Chelsea owner Abramovich met with the players after the match against RB Salzburg and Pulisic has now revealed what Abramovich told him.
Speaking to The Telegraph, Pulisic said: “I wasn’t thinking about the owner being there when I scored. But it’s great, he said ‘hello’ to us after and it was a good night. He said ‘welcome to the club’, just being nice.”
Pulisic also talked about scoring his first Chelsea goals.
“I’m really happy to get the win, and to score my first goals for Chelsea was really great,” Pulisic told Chelsea TV.
“They’re not a bad team at all, they gave us a challenge, they have some really good players, and we did a really good job to start strong. We were clinical and got the lead early so that helped.
“All these matches are helping us prepare for the season that is coming up, we’re gaining our fitness back, we’re feeling really good and we’re excited for the start.”
