Christian Pulisic made his first Chelsea start in the Super Cup penalty shootout loss to Liverpool on Wednesday night.
Speaking after the game against Liverpool, Pulisic revealed his frustration about the result against Liverpool. According to Pulisic, it was the second game in a row where Chelsea’s performance had not been rewarded with the right result.
“It was harsh on us,” the United States international said.
“A few things just didn’t go our way, a few decisions and in the end, to lose on penalties, that’s just how it goes.
“But we can be really proud of how we played. I don’t feel that we had a fair result at Old Trafford either.
“We’ve been creating enough chances to win these games and we just have to keep going and keep fighting.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard believes Pulisic’s performanc against Liverpool was just a taste of things to come from the American.
The American was given a rating of 8/10 by Daily Mail after an impressive performance against Liverpool.
Lampard said about Pulisic: “Yeah I was pleased, and there is a lot more to come. The expectancy is right, he is a big signing for us but you have to remember his age. He’s 20 and come into the league, into this game, against Liverpool, one of the most intense teams in football.
“It took a bit of time early in the game to get his feeling. But once he did, you could see his confidence in carrying the ball and to create.
“I am really happy with him. There is lots, lots more to come. Again, [he’s showing] all the good signs for what he can be for the club.”
