Christian Pulisic signed for Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window, but he didn’t make the move to Stamford Bridge until the end of the season as he chose to remain on loan with Dortmund.

Pulisic has now revealed his reason for not joining Chelsea in January was because he wanted to finish his work with Dortmund.

“I was super excited to be here the whole time after it was agreed, but I had a job to do with Dortmund so I had to focus on that,” he told Chelsea magazine

“Now I’m here it’s amazing. Honestly, I didn’t really know what to expect, but at the same time it’s everything I hoped it would be. It’s crazy to be here, to have this jersey on. It still doesn’t feel real.”

Youth coach and longtime Chelsea fan Robin Walker has revealed why Pulisic joined Chelsea instead of Manchester United.

“I’m a Chelsea fan, I grew up in London supporting them,” Walker told The Telegraph.

“When I was in Dortmund last year, I told him that he had to come.

“He wouldn’t go to Manchester United because of Jose Mourinho. His father couldn’t stand Mourinho, because he didn’t promote young players.

“It was at that point I asked: “What about London? That’s where it’s at.” I was trying to sell the city.

“His agent agreed, saying: When you make these decisions, it’s all about investment and property.’ I was delighted that he did sign.”
