Chelsea’s attack was in super form as the Blues defeated RB Salzburg 5-3 in our 6th pre-season game of the summer.
Chelsea’s January signing Christian Pulisic also had a great game and scored a brace as Chelsea defeated the Austrian side.
The 20-year-old American was set up by Ross Barkley for his first goal, and Pulisic has revealed that the pass was perfect, admitting that he wasn’t sure Barkley will be able to give such a pass.
“He’s an easy guy to play with,” Pulisic said about Barkley.
“I wasn’t sure he was going to see that pass for the goal. But he picked me out from, I don’t know how far away it was.
“It was perfect. I kind of received the ball with my face but it was good. We had a good connection.
“I made the run and thought ’please make the pass’ and he did, it was perfect.”
Pulisic proved he was going to be an exciting signing with his performance against Salzburg, and Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has hailed the 20-year-old for his performance ahead of the new season.
“I was very impressed with the way that he took the goals,” Lampard said.
“As a winger in the Premier League, he has to adapt to that league.
“He is young but with huge potential and I am happy for him.”
