Reports claim that Tiemoue Bakayoko is set for a loan exit to rejoin former club Monaco, but Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia has blocked his move to the Ligue 1 side.
Bakayoko doesn’t seem to be a part of Frank Lampard’s plan for the new season, and the new Chelsea boss is willing to offload the Frenchman.
Bakayoko had a good loan spell with AC Milan last season, but fell out with Gennaro Gattuso who chose not to keep him at the San Siro club. And Chelsea boss Frank Lampard isn’t interested in using the 25-year-old this season.
According to RMC Sport, Chelsea’s long-term plan for Bakayoko is to recoup the majority of the £40million the club spent to sign him from Monaco two years ago and Granovskaia is concerned that Monaco aren’t a big enough club to showcase his value.
Meanwhile, Chelsea defender Davide Zappacosta is close to sealing a loan exit from Chelsea to join Roma until the end of the season.
According to Sky Italia, Zappacosta will undergo a medical later this week ahead of completing a move to the Stadio Olimpico.
Zappacosta is yet to feature for Chelsea under new boss Frank Lampard, and the 27-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements due to the emergence of buzzing youngster Reece James.
Zappacosta joined Chelsea from Torino in 2017 under Antonio Conte and went on to feature 35 times during his debut season in England. He was a key player in our Europa League squad as the Blues were crowned Europa champions under Maurizio Sarri.
