It was on this day six years ago when Chelsea completed the signing of Willian from Anzhi Mackhachkala.
The Blues hijacked the Brazilian from joining rivals Tottenham as he had already completed a medical with Spurs before Roman Abramovich moved in to seal his signature.
To mark Willian’s six year anniversary signing, Chelsea marked the occasion on Twitter on Wednesday morning.
A tweet from the club’s official account read: “Six years ago today, @willianborges88 became a blue!”
Howver, sime Chelsea fans want the Brazilian to leave the club. Despite being a first-team player at Stamford Bridge for many years and being named Chelsea Player of the Year in 2016, some Chelsea fans want him gone.
In response to the tweet, one Chelsea supporter said: “I’m not one for slating our players on twitter but there’s no denying he is massively overrated by the club and it’s a great mystery to me why he’s still here.”
Another commented: “Time to say goodbye.”
“Thanks for the memories but it’s time to say goodbye,” wrote one supporter.
One fan wrote: “Thanks for everything and goodbye.”
Willian has not started a game under Frank Lampard this season and has been limited to just two substitute appearances.
The Brazilian made his 200th Premier League appearance for Chelsea on Saturday in the 3-2 win at Norwich City.
You will need him for your championship league.Don’t let him go like Liuz
