Chelsea will host newly-promoted Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon, with Chris Wilder’s side having four points from their opening three Premier League games. The Blues have also gotten four points from our opening three Premier League games.
Frank Lampard will be aiming for another victory after the 3-2 win over Norwich City last weekend, and it is the final chance before the international break to get a bit of momentum going and close the gap on those above them.
Chelsea are currently 13th in the league, but level on points with Manchester United who are 5th, with goal difference separating both sides.
The centre referee for this contest will be Stuart Attwell, and surprisingly he has only officiated three Chelsea games.
The 36-year-old took his first Premier League match in 2008, and this will be just the fourth game that he would have taken charge of where Chelsea are playing.
His first two games where he officiated Chelsea games ended in a draw, with a 1-1 draw with Southend United in the FA Cup in 2009, with the next being the 0-0 FA Cup stalemate with Norwich City in 2018.
The only Premier League game he has taken charge of where Chelsea got a win was the 2-1 win at Brighton & Hove Albion last season when Maurizio Sarri was still in charge of the club.
Stuart Attwell will be assisted by Stuart Burt and Nick Hopton as the assistant referees while the fourth official is Dean Whitestone.
