Champions League winners Liverpool won the Super Cup 5-4 on penalties against Europa League winners Chelsea after the game ended 2-2 following extra-time on Wednesday.

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham failed to beat Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian after the first nine penalties had been converted.

According to Daily Mail, here are Chelsea’s best four players against Liverpool:

1. N’Golo Kante was named as Chelsea’s best player against Liverpool and was given a rating of 8.5, which the midfielder deserved.

“Surprise starter following an injury set-back but easy to understand why Lampard took the risk. Drove Chelsea forward at every opportunity,” Daily Mail wrote about Kante.

2. American international Christian Pulisic was rated as Chelsea’s second best player after his first start of the season for the Blues. The American provided the assist for Olivier Giroud’s goal and had a goal ruled out for offside. Pulisic was given a rating of 8.

“On his full Chelsea debut, the American looked impressive. It’s not Eden who quite yet, but this showing was full of promise,” Daily Mail wrote about Pulisic.

3. Kepa Arrizabalaga was given a rating of 7.5 after an impressive performance against Liverpool.

On Kepa’s performance, Daily Mail wrote: “Vital save to deny Salah early on before a wonder double stop to prevent Salah and Van Dijk from giving Liverpool the lead.”

4. Pedro was also given a rating of 7.5 after an impressive and energetic performance against Liverpool.

On Pedro’s performance, Daily Mail wrote: “A constant threat for Lampard’s men. An intelligent display in which he caused Liverpool’s defence plenty problems.”
