A lot has been said about Chelsea even before the start of the season. The Blues lost star player Eden Hazard to Real Madrid, and Maurizio Sarri left his job at the end of last season after just a year at the club. And for Frank Lampard, his appointment was deemed too quick by many, with many analysts claiming that he doesn’t have enough experience to manage a big club like Chelsea.
Chelsea’s start to the season has been below par as Frank Lampard’s side has only gotten a point from their first two games and are five points already behind league leaders Liverpool.
Former Premier League stars and football pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have both tipped Chelsea to miss out on a top four finish.
Gary Neville said: “I think United will get into the top four. Not because of what happened last week, I think United have got more options at centre-forward – Martial and Rashford.
“I think Chelsea will struggle to score goals and losing Hazard was devastating for them.”
Jamie Carragher believes Chelsea and Manchester United will miss out as he said: “It’s a toss up with Arsenal. It’s whoever goes furthest in the Europa League, that could cause a problem. If we’re talking about Manchester United having more options up front than Chelsea, yeah totally agree with that.
“But I actually think the fire power Arsenal have might edge Manchester United. I think in Lacazette and Aubameyang, that’s a proper goal threat. Probably as good as anything with two strikers.”
