Much has been said about Christian Pulisic’s ability to make up for Eden Hazard’s absence at Chelsea with the American international even denying he is a direct replacement for the Belgian who left the Blues for Real Madrid this summer.

While Pulisic isn’t expected to be the new Eden Hazard (as there can only be one Hazard), fans expect the American to be a big player for the Blues.

Fans got a taste of what to expect from Pulisic in the new season as the Blues beat RB Salzburg 5-3 on Wednesday night.

Pulisic scored twice and won the penalty which Ross Barkley converted and he certainly looked like he will be an important player for Chelsea this season.

While everyone is understandably excited about the goals he got, what impressed me the most about the American international is his pace and his ability to time his runs to perfection.

Players like Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho will be happy with his well-timed runs as it gives them an option to deliver through balls from deep, something Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will demand a lot from our two central midfielders.

Pulisic’s composure in front of goal is also very impressive and if the American continues to receive excellent balls that put him through on goal, expect him to finish with ease.
